Halunder Jet – FRS vessel Christened in Hamburg

May 2018 – The new 56m / 692 pax / 36 knot vessel to service Helgoland from Hamburg, Cuxhaven and Weddel in Germany has been christened in Hamburg. After being delivered under its own power from Austal’s shipyard in the Philippines, the vessel enjoyed a fine day and a large gathering to witness the vessel entering service. SGD’s work involved the design of all marine interiors and exterior aspects and included the addition of elements such as overhead passenger luggage lockers, dehumidifying cabinets, a glass passenger platform lift, stunning and practical bars and kiosks, intelligent lighting, superior audio and visual systems – and fine amenity, ambiance and atmosphere inside created by use of fine leathers and other superior finishes throughout. Boasting feature panels of stretched deck head, expansive aisles and large windows, this vessel truly sets the bar high for commercial vessel interiors. This proves once again the benefits of engaging qualified and experienced marine designers to maximise any opportunity and bring a wealth of experience to the design superior commercial passenger vessels to excel in a competitive marketplace.
